What types of problems do people seek help for?
Men often come to me for assistance with stress, chronic pain, sleep difficulties, relationship issues, and various other life challenges. I’ve had particularly positive outcomes with men experiencing burnout. Creative individuals also tend to respond well to the energetic work I offer. Additionally, men dealing with cancer and chronic pain have reported significant relief following healing sessions. And many professionals and coaches come to me as well. However, it’s important to note that my work is not intended as a treatment for mental illness or as a replacement for professional healthcare. It is focused on stress management, general health, and spiritual wellness. Results cannot be guaranteed. If you’d like to discuss your needs, please email me.
Do you only work with men?
I specialise in men's mental health and wellbeing. Men in today's society face unique challenges that are best understood by other men. Many traditional cultures distinguish between men's business and women's business, and I believe there is wisdom in this that should be honoured. While there are many healers in the community specialising in women's business, there are few who focus on men's business. I feel called to address this need in the community. I do work with females but have fewer spaces in my calendar for female clients and may also respectfully decline working with a female if I sense their challenges are best addressed by a female practitioner.
What happens in a consultation?
Each consultation is tailored to your specific needs. Generally, we begin with a discussion about your situation and goals. I assess your thought patterns and problem-solving approaches, providing recommendations as needed. This conversation also helps to process and release trapped emotions. Following our talk, we transition into the energy healing session, where I use various techniques to clear and harmonize your energy. By the end of the consultation, you should feel calmer, lighter, and more connected to Spirit. Regular consultations may differ slightly based on our ongoing work together.
How much are your sessions?
A single session of up to 60 minutes is $160. A 90-minute session is available for $240. A 90-minute consultation is the preferred option for a first appointment because it allows for a deeper exploration of your challenges, a healing session, and a debrief.
Can you see me under a Mental Health Care Plan?
No, sorry. I’m not a registered health care provider and my services are for general wellness and spiritual development, not treating mental illness.
Can I get Medicare or Insurance rebates?
No, sorry. My work is private, for general wellness, and outside the healthcare and insurance system.
Are you a clinical psychologist?
No, I am not a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Although I was previously a clinical psychologist, I voluntarily retired my registration in order to fully embrace my work as a spiritual healer and therapist, which was not possible under the constraints of the psychology profession. Prior to this transition, I worked for over a decade as a clinical psychologist and academic, including training and supervising psychologists and clinical psychologists within Australian universities. I also conducted scientific research on various spiritual and complementary therapies. While psychology offers valuable frameworks for understanding mental health, it is also governed by strict regulations regarding the types of therapeutic approaches that may be practised and the views practitioners may express publicly. Over time, I found that these constraints limited my ability to be transparent about my broader therapeutic interests, particularly in relation to spiritual and energy-based approaches to healing.
Do you work with couples?
I am a certified Imago couple’s therapist but I don’t provide “couples counselling” at the moment. If you need individual support but your situation also somehow requires your partner’s attendance at sessions then that’s very possible. Bringing a support person or someone to provide a bit more perspective on your situation is a great idea, but just email me first so we can discuss it.
Do you provide online consultations?
Absolutely yes, I do offer online consultations but only for counselling. Please email me to arrange a call to discuss your situation.
I want some counselling but not the spiritual stuff. Can you help me?
Sure. Online consultations are predominantly counselling, so that's an option. I also provide face-to-face counselling but I prefer to see people who are open to trying my energetic healings. It doesn't mean we will necessarily do that, but if you're not at least open to trying it if I think its needed then we're probably not a good fit.
I'm on Workcover. Can you work with me?
Not as part of your Workcover claim. You could become a private client, but our work will be completely separate from your Workcover claim. Which means that I would not be writing treatment plans or reports to doctors, insurers or case managers. In my experience, these systems are an obstacle to healing
Do you work with children?
No, sorry. I only work with people between the ages 25 to 65 years old.
I’m seeking help on behalf of someone else. Can you help them?
The individual seeking help needs to contact me directly. I only work with people who are motivated and willing to take responsibility for their results. I suggest having them review this website and reach out to me if they feel inclined.
Do you do assessments for things like ADHD and Autism?
No, sorry. You need to see a psychologist or psychiatrist for this.
Can you write me a letter to my employer, college, application for pension etc?
No, sorry. This is not something I do. You need to see a psychologist for this.
Will you work with me as part of my NDIS package?
No, sorry. I work outside the insurance and healthcare industry. You could become a private client but it will be completely separate from your NDIS claim. I do not write treatment plans or reports to your doctors, insurers or case managers and I do not attend case conferences.
I have a mental health condition. Will you work with me?
You will need to email me to discuss your situation. Sometimes its better to see a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist for mental health problems.
I am on WorkCover. Can you work with me?
Not as part of your WorkCover claim. You could become a private client, but our work will be completely separate from your WorkCover claim. Which means that I would not be writing treatment plans or reports to doctors, insurers or case managers. In my experience, these systems can become an obstacle to the healing process.
I only want some hypnotherapy and not the spiritual stuff. Can you help me?
Hypnotherapy is absolutely an important part of my holistic approach but its not all I do. If you are only interested in hypnotherapy, you may need to work with a dedicated hypnotherapist.
Are you Christian?
Therapists generally don't talk too much about their personal beliefs, however, when a practitioner works in the spirituality space with people of various cultures and beliefs I think it's important to be transparent. Yes, I identify as a Christian and I do sometimes say Christian prayers during a healing session, however I do not try to convert people to any particular belief system.
Are you psychic?
Over the years I have become more sensitive to energies. When I provide a healing I can sense the emotion a person is releasing and sometimes I feel God's Holy Spirit or receive intuitive messages. But please don't ask me to do a psychic reading. I don't know what will happen in the future.
Are you a shaman?
No, I don't identify as a shaman. It is inappropriate to adopt this title unless recognized by a community. However, I have studied shamanism and shamanic healing for nearly a decade, and my work often reflects shamanic elements. I am also one of Australia’s few academics conducting psychological research on shamanic healing, so I am well-versed in the subject, but I am not a “shaman.”
I don't like the word God, can you use something else?
I use the word “God” and sometimes “Spirit”, but I mean the same thing. I try to be sensitive to everyone's needs so if you tell me the terminology you like I'll do my best to use it.
I want to do yoga and meditation with you but don't want healing sessions. Is that possible?
Yes, that's fine. During the year I offer basic hatha yoga and meditation courses. Keep an eye out for them.
How do I book a consultation?
Please contact me via email to arrange a call to discuss your needs. If we decide to work together, I'll provide booking instructions.
